MERRY & (VERY) BRIGHT | HOLIDAY LIGHTS FOR A CAUSE

December 06, 2018 / Local News

Everyone likes an impressive holiday light display, and some festive decorators are inspired to bring it to the next level – by turning their passion into a fundraiser to help others in their community. Here are a few that we found in New Hampshire and Maine:

LIGHTS FOR LIVES | STRATHAM, NH

Each year, the Stratham, NH Volunteer Firefighter Association organizes a holiday light display competition as a fundraiser for a local charity or family in need. Homes sign up to participate and locals get to vote on their favorite. Even better – the idea came from a Boy Scout! LEARN MORE >>

NORTON LIGHTS | WELLS, ME

This light display collects donations for Make-A-Wish Maine, and this year marks their 10th anniversary working with the organization. See the lights dance to music that you can hear from your car!  LEARN MORE >>

LUKE’S LIGHTS | DOVER, NH

This home collects donations for St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, posting updates about their progress on their website. They also have videos from past years, so you can see how they’ve advanced the show over time (you can listen to this display’s soundtrack, too)!  LEARN MORE >>

GIFT OF LIGHTS | LOUDON, NH

Although it’s not a home display, this event is too cool not to mention. Held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, this drive-through light show collects donations for the Loudon Food Pantry and proceeds from ticket sales go to help other organizations throughout the state. LEARN MORE >>
