Experience total privacy with a wall of rock ledge as you read on the sun speckled deck during the day and dine alfresco under the moon and stars well into the night in this mosquito free, very romantic environment. Grab the beach chairs, beach towels, and boogie boards as you head out to Ogunquit beach where you can ride down the Ogunquit River and out into the surf, or walk the 3 mile, white sand beach.
Return home to the peacefulness of Ledgewood for an outside shower and refreshing cocktails.
If you choose to go out, then head down to Perkins Cove where you can walk the Marginal Way cliff walk back to the beach, take a sight seeing cruise, and watch the boats and footbridge from the upper deck at Barnacle Billy’s while sipping on their signature ‘Hurricane’. Then head over to MC’s for a delightful dinner. If you would rather eat outside by the boats or take food home, the lobster specials are a must at The Footbridge take out. Their fried oysters, fried claims, butter filled lobster rolls, or swordfish sandwiches can not be beat.
If sailing interests you, go to the Finest Kind at Perkins Cove where your neighbor, Goat (Grant Hubbard), will take you out for a late afternoon sail followed by choosing lobsters from his creates called ‘cars’ right there in the water at the dock. Take the lobsters back to Ledgewood where you can cook the fresh crustaceans and enjoy your feast on your private deck listening to music of your choice.
Travel south down Shore Rd to enjoy the crashing waves on the rocky coast line. Shore Rd brings you to Victorian York beach where you can play in the arcade, watch taffy being pulled, purchase souvenirs, and visit York’s Wild Kingdom. Continue on Rt 1-A to Nubble light and York Beach.
Enjoy shopping for antiques or bargains at the Kittery Outlets or travel north to the outlets at Freeport. If historical cities interest you, travel 20 minutes south to Portsmouth, 1 hour south to Boston, or 45 minutes north to Portland.
